Pictured is an eight foot tall bronze statue of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. titled `Keep the Dream Alive`. It is located at the Martin Luther King Community Center in South Dallas. It was designed by Winn Walter and completed in 1976 by Oscar Graves, a sculptor from Detroit. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Christian minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. He helped organize the 1963 March on Washington, where he delivered his famous `I Have a Dream` speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
