Built in 1897,long before Walt Disney came along, this was just one of many of the barracks for the solders who were stationed here in the Presidio. By the time the Museum moved in,in October 2009,all of the army's finishes were since gone. Walt's daughter,Diane, had the idea of a museum dedicated to her father was needed, and this was about the same time the Presidio officially closed as an Army base,so they were able to get this beautiful and historic space.
