Cares River Gorge between Los Collaos and the Murallón de Amuesa, in Cabrales, Asturias (Spain). The Cares is a river in the north of Spain that flows through León and Asturias until it joins the river Deva and empties into the Atlantic Ocean in the Bay of Biscay. It forms the estuary of Tina Mayor, the natural border between Asturias and Cantabria. The Cares is known for the narrow and spectacular canyon, the Cares River Gorge or `Divine Gorge`, which forms when crossing the Picos de Europa. A hiking trail, `Route of the Cares`, runs along the river.
