She is a married mother of 3 and a breast cancer survivor. A liberal, she is pro-choice and a member of Planned Parenthood. She is the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. A transplanted New Yorker, she has lectured in college and was a Florida legislator before being elected to Congress. She is a member of Hadassah and active in Jewish affairs.
