The original Cape Henry Lighthouse is made from Aquia sandstone, and is a 192 step climb to the top. The second lighthouse black and white exterior was built in 1881, and is still in use today by the United States Coast Guard. These lighthouses mark the southern entrance to the Chesapeake Bay.
