It is made up of a moat, a pre-wall and the great crenellated wall with triple cube towers. To the south stands the keep. Some sections of the wall that surrounded the town are preserved.nIt is a historic building, a peninsular benchmark for gothic-military architecture. It was declared a National Monument by the provisional government of the Second Republic. It is located on an old fort from the Bronze, Iron and Roman ages.
