Pictured is a monument that commemorates the restoration in the year 1985 of the original Kay Park built in the 1900s. It also commemorates the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad, which founded Denison in 1872. Denison was named after a railroad executive and Denison became home to the first north/south railroad connection in Texas. The first train which arrived on Christmas Eve in 1872 is also seen at the base of the memorial monument.
