The color Canyon is located in the southeast of the Sinai Peninsula, on a plateau of Et-Tikh in Sinai mountains, to the northwest of the city of Nuveyba, the governorate the Southern Sinai, Egypt. Rocks from multi-colored sandstone with impregnations of granite, cobalt, copper and ancient corals gave the name to a canyon. Coloring of rocks in some places very bright with prismatic metal gloss, in other places — color of a stone very soft and gentle. The sandstones making a canyon are painted in various colors — red, pink, yellow, gray, violet, white. The canyon represents naturally arisen huge crack in sandy rocks, well remained ancient seabed. Within several centuries water and a wind turned deepening in red sandstone. During rains the canyon which is usually drying up within a year is flooded with water. Then water flows down in drive the drying-up river Vadi-Vatir.
