This is picture from the Codex Gigas (Giant book) also called Devil's bible. Because inside in the unique picture of devil. It is the largest manuscript in the world, weight is about 80 kg. Codex gigas was made in Bohemia (today Czech republic). It was written by only one benedictine monk in 13th century. Manuscript was stolen by swedish army in 1648 until Thirty years war. Today you can see original in Sweden national library or maquete (same size like original) in Czech republic. According to legend devil visited monk near midnight and promise him knowledge in exchange monk's soul. So devil helped him made book in one night and monk made his picture inside this bible.
