Colorful fishing net laying on a pier.artisanal fishing is a small-scale fishing, most often inshore,with fishing techniques mostly based on dormant gear (nets, traps, lines)and especially on a human scale (the owner of the vessel works on board)with strong territorial anchorage.These vessels, because of their small scope, are extremely dependent on the healthof the marine ecosystem and the abundance of the species they target.Their fishing strategies aim to alternate fishing zones and species throughout the yearso as not to harm the stocks and to be able to continue fishing for a long time in this geographical area.Today, they are increasingly turning to direct sales in order to make the most of their catches.That allows us to fish a little less and generate more revenue.
