Sihanoukville is a city in southern Cambodia, capital of the province of Sihanoukville. Overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the city is the only deep sea port in the country. Previously designated Kampong Saom, it was renamed in 1958 in honor of Norodom Sihanouk, former king of Cambodia.
