The ciliated banana-eating gecko Correlophus ciliatus of the genus Rhacodactylus or Correlophus. Endemic to the island of New Caledonia. It lives in the upper tier of rain forests. Active at night and at dusk. The words ciliated or crested because of the jagged row of spines that run the length of the lizard's back. It can shed its tail, which does not grow back later. The banana-eating gecko is an omnivore.
