Actress Cicely Tyson proudly displays the Tony Award she won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her exquisite portrayal in 'The Trip to Bountiful.' The 67th annual Tony Awards were held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 9 2013. In her phenomenal productive and lengthy over 70-year career she received an Oscar nomination for 'Sounder' and decades later in 2018 received an honorary Academy Award. She was a Primetime Emmy winner as well but the Tony was particularly remarkable considering she was 88 at the time. Tyson died on January 28 2021 in New York City at the age of 96.
