Interior of the dome in S. Lorenzo church. It stands in Piazza Castello, just before the Piazzetta Reale, and it has a simple facade uniformed to the nearer buildings. Its construction began in 1634 in order to accomplish the vow made by Emanuele Filiberto on the San Quintino battle's eve against the French (August 10th, 1557), but only thanks to the intervention of the Teathine monk Guarino Guarini, arrived in Turin in 1666, the church was consecrated in 1680.
