On the site of the medieval cemetery and the church of Saints Cosmas and Damian (1452), the church of "Gospe van grada" ("Our Lady of the City") was built. After the foundation of the parish of Varos (1604), the renovation of the old church began. Completed in 1740. Then a bell tower was built, which was connected to the church by a small bridge. The public cemetery around the church was abolished in 1828.
