The original wooden church was built in 1226 on the initiative of the bishop of Cracow Iwona Odrowąż. After the fire, a new, gothic, brick church was erected. Its construction lasted 8 years and ended in 1434. In 1706 and 1719 transformed into baroque. The church is located at 11 Staromiejska Street in Sandomierz. It lies in the immediate vicinity of the St. Gorge. Queen Jadwiga, and also near the church of St. Jakub and is another, after the Jacob`s temple, point on the Lesser Poland Road Jacob.
