Bubur ayam & x28;Indonesian for & x22;chicken congee& x22;& x29; is an Indonesian chicken congee. It is rice congee with shredded chicken meat served with some condiments, such as chopped scallion, crispy fried shallot, celery, tongcay & x28;preserved salted vegetables& x29;, fried soybean, crullers & x28;youtiao, known as cakwe in Indonesia& x29;, and both salty and sweet soy sauce, and sometimes topped with yellow chicken broth and kerupuk & x28;Indonesian-style crackers& x29;. Unlike many other Indonesian dishes, it is not spicy; sambal or chili paste is served separately.
