In September 28,1993,the bronze statue of Chen Yi,the first mayor of Shanghai in New China,was erected in the Bund.Chen Yi Square faces Ten-mile Nanjing Road.Casted by the bronze,the statue of Chen Yi is of 5.6m in height with foundation built by red polished granitic rocks,vividly representing the image of Chen Yi when inspecting the work.
