Fireman returning from the fire after being relieved by their colleagues .The gas cloud sweeps across the river Rhine and surrounding fields.Krefeld ,Germany A huge fire is currently burning in a fertiliser storage depot. The fire was reported at 07:00 hrs local time, in the Compo factory.So far 32000 tons of fertiliser have been destroyed. The fire Brigade reckons it will take several days to put out this enormous fire. In this photo the smoke cloud can be seen as it blows towards Duisburg and Essen. The smoke can be seen over 40 miles away. According to the Fire Department the smoke is harmless. People have been told to stay indoors and not let children play outside. A major road bridge has been closed.
