The cave church of Santa Marija is located in Mellieha, just a few steps away from the village's imposing parish church. Its special feature is a fresco that is said to have been painted by the evangelist Luke. However, it actually dates back to the 13th century. The apse was painstakingly carved out of the rock and probably dates back to early Christian times. Malta - December 3, 2023
