beautiful rows of well-kept vines on the hillsides of Venteuil, exposed to the south-facing sun. A nice walk on the Champagne tourist route. On the first floor a red rose which is used to prevent mildew disease. An ancestral discovery that has led winegrowers to use the rosebush as a scout for vine diseases. Indeed, the rosebush and the vine prove to be subject to the same diseases, and in particular to powdery mildew, a fungus well known to winegrowers with dramatic consequences for the harvest.
