Pictured is a 3.5 ton chalcedony in front of the Gemstones Art Museum in Hoi An, Vietnam. Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline form of silica, composed of very fine intergrowths of quartz and moganite. Chalcedony`s standard chemical structure is based on the chemical structure of quartz, SiO2 or silicon dioxide. Founded in 2013 by Mr. Duong, Gemstone Arts Museum is a hundred year old colonial building located in the heart of Hoi An`s ancient town. With more than six hundred exclusive pieces, it houses one of the most extensive collections of rare minerals, gem sculptures and cut stones in Vietnam.
