Chaka Salt Lake, also known as Chaka or dabsunnur, is a natural crystal salt lake located in Chaka Town, Ulan County, Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haixi, Qinghai Province. It is one of the four salt lakes in Qaidam Basin. `Chaka` is Tibetan, meaning salt pond, that is, salt in Qinghai; `dabsunnur` is Mongolian, also meaning salt lake. Chaka Salt Lake is as famous as thar temple, Qinghai Lake and Mengda Tianchi, which is one of the `four sceneries of Qinghai`.
Chaka Salt Lake has an open area and flat terrain. The lake surface has a strong reflection ability. It is like a mirror prepared for the sky washing and dressing. It is called China`s `mirror of the sky`.
