Small annual shrub, native to Madagascar. It grows well from the lowlands to an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. This plant likes places that are open, but it is possible to grow in places that are somewhat protected as well. Shrub habitus grows sideways, plant height can reach 0.2-1 meter. The leaves are egg-shaped, green in color, alternate pinnately arranged. The leaves are about 2–6 cm long, 1–3 cm wide, and the petioles are very short. The stems and leaves contain white latex.
