Originally mediaeval was built in the twelfth century, the inhabitants of Camogli here was unable to elect their representatives or withdrew in times of danger within the walls. It was attacked and destroyed by Gian Galeazzo Visconti and Nicholas Fieschi in 1366 and, after being rebuilt, also from the Duchy of Milan in 1438.
