Campo de Criptana is a municipality and town in the province of Ciudad Real in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), It is believed that Miguel de Cervantes drew inspiration from the windmills of Campo de Criptana to relate the adventure that occurs at the beginning of one chapter of 'Don Quixote'.
