The bell (lat. Campanula) is a genus of exclusively herbaceous plants from the Bellflower family (Campanulaceae). The genus includes more than 400 species native to temperate climates. It occurs naturally in the Caucasus, Europe, Siberia, Central and Near Asia, and has some distribution in North America.There are about 150 species on the territory of Russia and neighboring countries, and up to 15 in the European part of Russia.The habitats of bluebells are diverse, meadows, forests, steppes are accessible to them, they are also found in desert and rocky areas. Numerous and diverse species inhabit the subalpine and alpine belts of the mountains.
