Caleta Portales is a fishing cove and fisher guild located in the vicinity of the port of ValparaÃso, in the homonymous region of Chile. Nowadays it has become a tourist attraction and is surrounded by seafood restaurants. However, artisanal fishing activities are still carried on. The Caleta Portales fishermen have been traditionally focused in hake and conger, but as these resources are dwindling they have started fishing alternative products, such as Jumbo squid locally called pota.
