Pictured is the maquette cast into the bronze Freedom Sculpture by Zenos Frudakis, located at 16th and Vine Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The maquette is the original mass of clay where a concept is born, and including it in the sculpture was part of Frudakis`s goal that the very process of creating the sculpture is clearly revealed in the work itself. It is 20 feet long and 8 feet high, and weighs 7000 pounds. It was dedicated June 18, 2001. The sculpture is about the struggle for achievement of freedom through the creative process.
