After sunset in January the blue hour casts an erie glow over the fishing boats in the Staithe. The original staithe was built in 1750 but gradually deteriorated over the centuries. The fishermen had to offload their catch onto a muddy bank via small dinghies instead of moored boats. In 2007 funding was granted for a new quay as we see here. nnn
