The HBO premium cable tv company produced the drama based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway play of the same name. The setting takes place in New York in the 1980’s during the HIV-AIDS epidemic and deals with sexual politics and gay activists protesting government inaction and failure to deal with the scourge. Pitt was the producer of the film.
