Pictured is a Bodhisattva Torso on display in the Kimbell Museum of Art in Fort Worth, Texas. The material is stone with traces of gesso and pigment and it was created circa 775-800 AD in China, probably Shanxi province, during the Tang dynasty. A bodhisattva is a person who is on the path towards bodhi or Buddhahood.
