Bridge # 35-08-05. The 172-feet long New Hope Covered Bridge was built in 1878 by Josiah Bryant using the Howe truss design with arch to span White Oak Creek. The bridge, also called Bethel Road Covered Bridge, is the longest single-span surviving covered bridge in Ohio. The bridge underwent major renovations in 1902, 1932, and in 1977. The bridge is closed to motor vehicle traffic
