The Japanese beetle is one of many invasive species to North America. Unfortunately it has been something that we had to learn to deal with for many years. They come around at a certain time of year and eat all the flowers and leaves from the plant causing them to die. This little guy was on the side of this purple coneflower getting ready to enjoy a meal. This picture was taken in the East Coventry township close to Pottstown in Pennsylvania.
