The Tanggula Mountains T`ang-ku-la Shan or Tanggula Shan, located at the border between the northeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and Qinghai Province the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, means `the mountain that the eagle cannot fly over` A mountain range near east to west in the middle of the Tibetan Plateau.
The height of the mountain range is about 6000 meters above sea level. The highest peak, Ke La Dan Dong, is 6621 meters above sea level.
