Family group of plants illuminated by the sun against the background of other vegetation, suburban (rural) country houses and fragments of cultivated garden. Phlox is a genus of flowering herbaceous plants of the family Singhania (Polemoniaceae). Includes about 70 species. In culture — about 40 species; in Europe, some of them were put in culture in mid-eighteenth century. In Greek Phlox means flame. This name was given to this genus in 1737 by Carl Linnaeus, apparently, for the bright red flowers of some tall wild Phlox. The majority of species of perennial and annual plants and shrubs, distributed mostly in North America. The flowers are tubular-funnel-shaped, fragrant, small size (no more than 3-4 cm in diameter), but in the inflorescence can be up to 90 pieces. Petals five, they are bent at right or nearly right angles to the tube, forming a flat whisk various forms. The flower has a pistil and five stamens. Corolla color is very different, ranging from pure white and white with eyes, dashes, dots, shadows to crimson-red-purple and dark purple-violet. The flowers are usually clustered in complex inflorescences, which are at the ends of the shoots.
