Maitara Island is an island in North Maluku, Indonesia. Maitara Island is located only 30 minutes by speed boat from Ternate Island. Maitara Island is a small island between Tidore and Ternate. Because the island is small but beautiful makes it an icon for the thousand rupiah currency. Most of the circle on Maitara Island is dominated by white sandy beaches and lies in front of the underwater world with a variety of fish and corals that are still well preserved.
