Pekalongan Batik is batik originating from Pekalongan, Central Java. Pekalongan City is known as Batik City because of the city's history and relationship with batik, its contribution to the development of batik, and the existence of batik craft centers as a source of livelihood for residents. The coat of arms of Pekalongan City also contains elements of Pekalongan Batik. Pekalongan Batik is influenced by Javanese culture and four foreign cultures, namely Dutch, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. This influence makes the motifs, patterns and colors of Pekalongan batik different from the Kraton Batik which developed in Surakarta and Yogyakarta. Pekalongan batik motifs vary and can combine various elements such as plant and animal motifs.
