Bad Ems is located in Lahn valley. The town Bad Ems has been recognized as UNESCO world heritage in 2021 and one of the 'great spa towns of Europe'. Since the 18th century the spa has become popular, especially among Prussian, Dutch and Russian aristocrats. The Russian royal history is connected with Bad Ems and visible in monuments and a Russian church. The Lahn is shaped like a canal in parts, especially at the historic classic buildings including hotels and a casino, called 'Spielbank' in German language
