Uluru (Ayers Rock) is famous for its red and orange glow at sunrise and sunset, but the Australian Outback comes alive with a completely different set of colors during the rare times when it rains in the desert.The wetness brings out the reds in the soils and changes the rock to a unique hue of purple. Though hard to see, waterfalls can be seen in the crevices as the rain water drains off. RAW file is also available with this image!
