Australian native Flannel Flowers, Actinotus helianthi, family Apiaceae, in the dappled light of a woodland understory, Royal National Park, Sydney, NSW, Australia. Common name of flannel flower refers to its soft woolly or felt-like flowers, leaves and stems. Flowers all year but peak flowering time is during spring. Grows in understory of sclerophyll forest and eucalyptus woodland along east coast of Australia.
