Actor Will Swenson and wife, actress and singer Audra McDonald arrives at the 66th Tony Awards at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan on June 12, 2012. She was nominated (and subsequently won) for her leading role in the musical, 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess.' When she won again, in 2014, she became the first female or male performer to have won 6 Tonys. Interestingly, both Angela Lansbury and Julie Harris had won 5 each, and were also bestowed with honorary Tonys, to bring their respective totals to 6. McDonald will be very likely to have an additional honorary Tony herself one day. McDonald is the only performer to have won a Tony in all 4 acting categories. She is as gifted in musicals as she is in traditional dramatic roles.
