Atocha train station is the oldest in Madrid (1851). There have also been many modifications and renovations over time. In the last one (1992), designed by architect Rafael Moneo, they converted the original glass platform into a waiting area in the form of a tropical greenhouse. In an area of 4000 square meters there are 7000 tropical and subtropical plants. It's a very pleasant waiting room...
