Winter in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. A rare sight: The Four Peaks, part of the Mazatzal Mountain Range, are covered with snow. They are a prominent landmark east of Phoenix. The name Four Peaks is a reference to the four distinct peaks of a north-south ridge forming the mountains' summits. The northernmost peak is named Browns Peak and is the tallest of the four at 7, 657 feet - 2, 334 m. The typical vegetation of the Sonoran Desert is visible in the foreground: saguaro cacti, palo verde trees, prickly pears, Buckhorn chollas. >Please, check out my portfolio for more views of The Four Peaks!
