In the fall and spring of 2013/14 and in the fall and summer of 2021/22 Desert Botanical Garden hosted an exhibition of glass artist Dale Chihuly. The spots for his sculptures and installations were carefully selected to offer new perceptions of this desert environment. These floats and reeds were aptly placed among different barrel cacti, and in front of a huge organ pipe cactus; nearby: prickly pears, a thorn-crested agave, chollas, creosote bushes and saguaros.
The barrel cacti are compass, straight-spined barrel cacti.
Please, check out my portfolio for more Chihuly sculptures and installations.
