The ancient Ariyakara Temple is located in the Rajagala Archaeological Reserve in the Ampara district of eastern Sri Lanka. It is located on a hill identified as Rajagala, which can be reached from the Ampara Mahaoya highway, not far from the village of Rajagala Thanna. According to ancient sources, this temple was constructed and donated to the monks between 116-109 BC.
