Don't add water at a time. Add it little by little until a tight dough forms. Heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, place a small ant-sized portion of the dough into the oil it should immediately rise to the top. Then add 4 teaspoons of hot oil to the dough in the bowl and mix well. Use a Murukku Press with a small hole circle attachment, placing a lemon-sized portion of dough in it. If the dough doesn't form long threads, add a little water and try again. Press the Murukku Press above the hot oil to create large outer circles, then fill the inside. A lemon-sized dough can yield 2-3 murukkus. Cook for 2 minutes on each side, then strain on absorbent paper. Once cool, store in a container.ingredients serving: 6 250gm gram flour,1 tsp carom seeds,10-12 cloves,10-12 black pepper, 1 tsp red chilli powder,1 2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 2 cup oil, 1 2 cup water, salt as required, 1 4 tsp baking soda,1 tsp all purpose flour, oil for frying.instructions for making masala: grind 1 tsp carom seeds, 10-12 cloves, and 10-12 black peppers. In a bowl, mix 1 2 cup oil, 1 and 1 2 cup water, 1 4 tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp salt until the mixture turns white. Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp all-purpose flour, and the ground masala. Mix well, then add 250g gram flour gradually, mixing properly. If needed, add more water to form a medium dough. Add 1 2 tsp asafoetida mixed in 1 tsp water to the dough. Grease your hands and the Sev mould with oil. Place a small amount of dough in the Sev maker stand. Heat oil in a pan and press the mould over the pan to make Sev over medium heat. Fry until golden brown, then strain and repeat the process.
