Andernach is a small town at the Rhine. In summer 2022 the Rhine had a very low water level after months of drought. The cargo ship must share the river with cruise ships and passenger ships, even ferries. At the industrial harbor Andernach north of Koblenz and south of Bonn, cargo ships and a cruise ship from Malta stop rather close. The traffic on the deep enough part of the Rhine goes on while the passenger ship to the geysir must wait to to turn.
