The Andean Condor is a large neck with a shiny black plumage and a collar of white feathers around its neck. On the head and the greater part of the neck the feathers are virtually absent, and the areas of bare skin in this place usually have shades from pale pink to red-brown. Male condors are distinguished by the presence of` earrings ` on the neck and a large dark red crest, or fleshy build-up, on the wax.
