The Amerigo Vespucci, one of the most famous ships of the Italian Navy, has arrived to Marina di Ravenna Harbour, where it will stop for a few days, from 4th to 7th October 2008. This is one of the stopping places of its summer tour together with Tangeri, Vigo, Rouen, Copenaghen, Amsterdam, Santander, Malaga and Tolone. It is a big vessel built in 1930 at the Naval Shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) and it is named after the explorer Amerigo Vespucci. It is used as a school ship; it has three steel masts, 26 sails and a total crew of about 450 persons.
